As an Engineering Manager, you will build, lead and motivate a high-performing, product-minded engineering team delivering highly complex innovative product increments for the Genesys Cloud Platform. The ideal candidate will have experience with both software engineering and people management.  

   

Responsibilities:  

• Recruit top talent to grow our motivated, high-performance, product-minded engineering organization 

• Support, invest in and develop incredible teams of talented and motivated engineers with clear expectations via practices such as 1:1s, goal setting, and constant feedback 

• Manage a development team of 5 engineers, balancing a fast-paced delivery schedule while ensuring resilience and quality to delight customers 

• Work together with the Product Manager especially on grooming and prioritizing a customer-centric product backlog 

• Collaborate with architects, tech leads and other stakeholders in the execution, and success of complex technical projects 

• Ensure business and product requirements are met in a timely manner with an exceptional quality 

• Cultivate a strong, transparent, and collaborative team culture with agile mindset 

• Remain up to date with industry standards and technological advancements that will improve the quality of your outputs and the team 

• Take part in hands-on development work 

 

Requirements:  

• 5+ years of experience as a hands-on software engineer and strength in computer science fundamentals to understand the engineering work and processes 

• Ability to engage, inspire and attract engineering teams. A compassionate approach to communication and a genuine interest in the success and growth of the people you work with

•Hands-on experience with Python and / or Java

• Experience with micro-services development and architecture 

• Consumer or Enterprise SaaS experience 

• Experience with AWS managed services and solutions 

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience 

• Excellent communication skills 

• Focus on details and strong problem-solving skills 

• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
