Game Duty - High School Athletics
Position Summary: The Game Duty worker supports Confluence Academies' high school athletic program by ensuring safe, organized, and efficient game-day operations. This position assists with event logistics before, during, and after athletic contests held at on-site or off-site facilities. Game Duty workers help maintain a positive environment for student-athletes, coaches, officials, and spectators while modeling professionalism and sports-like behavior. Â

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Game Duty workers may be assigned one or more of the following responsibilities:
- Gate Fee Collection - Collect admission fees and manage entry flow into the event.
- Door Monitoring - Monitor designated entry points to ensure appropriate access.
- Concession Stand Oversight - Supervise student workers/volunteers, ensure timely service, restock items as needed.
- Game Clock Operation - Operate the running clock at the discretion of referees or game officials.Â
- Scorekeeping - Maintain the official scorebook accurately.Â
- Public Address Announcing - Provide clear, professional announcements during varsity contests.Â
- Referee Escort - Provide locker room access, escort officials at halftime and post-game, and collect required forms.Â
- Custodial Notification - Report hazards, safety concerns, or sanitation issues in event areas.Â
- Crowd Control Support - Alert the administrator on duty to inappropriate spectator or athletic behavior.Â
- Football Chain Crew -Â Fulfill chain and yardage responsibilities for football contests.Â
- Statistician Duties - Record and maintain game statistics as assigned.Â
- Other Duties - Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the building athletic director.Â

Qualifications
Qualifications
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally withs students, staff, officials, and spectators.
- Ability to follow directions from athletic administrators and game officials.Â
- Reliability and punctuality for scheduled contests.
- Basic operational knowledge of scoreboards, clocks, or willingness to be trained.Â
- Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in a fast-paced environment.Â
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
Candidates must be able to:
- Stand for extended periods of time.Â
- Walk long distances at off-site facilities.Â
- Lift up to 25 pounds to shoulder height and 50 pounds to waist height.
- Bend, stoop, climb stairs, and reach overhead as needed.
- Hear and understand speech in noisy environments.Â
- Speak clearly for communication or public address announcing.Â
- Operate equipment such as clocks, scorebooks, and communication devices.Â
Reports to:Â Principal/Athletic and Activities Director
Position Type: Seasonal, part-time; hours vary based on athletic schedule.Â
