Project Description

The Strategy & Planning (S&P) Product Portfolio Delivery team is implementing the ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) module within the existing ServiceNow platform to modernize and standardize the way ETS evaluates, prioritizes, and governs technology investments.

The initiative will establish an enterprise-wide demand management process, replacing fragmented email- and spreadsheet-based workflows with a centralized, transparent, and scalable platform for technology investment decision-making.

The initial soft launch, planned for October 2026, will introduce demand management and rate case support capabilities, providing a consistent pipeline for technology initiatives and requests from intake through approval. Future releases will expand portfolio visibility, enable OKR-based value tracking, and strengthen product delivery governance across the organization’s technology portfolio.

The S&P Product Portfolio Delivery team is seeking aFunctional Tester with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills and a passion for quality assurance. The Functional Tester will work closely with business and IT stakeholders to develop and execute test strategies, validate system functionality, coordinate testing activities, identify and manage defects, and ensure solutions meet business requirements and quality standards.

Roles & Responsibilities

Review and analyze business, functional, and technical requirements to ensure they are clear, complete, consistent, and testable.

Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test data based on business requirements, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Execute functional, regression, integration, system, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

  • Identify, document, track, prioritize, and retest defects through resolution while collaborating closely with developers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and business stakeholders.

  • Validate system enhancements, configurations, integrations, and releases against approved business and functional requirements.

  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and end users throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

  • Participate in requirements reviews, solution/design sessions, sprint ceremonies, backlog refinement, planning sessions, and release planning activities.

  • Maintain end-to-end traceability between business requirements, test cases, test execution results, defects, and delivered functionality.

  • Support test environment readiness, test data preparation, deployment validation, and release verification activities.

  • Communicate testing progress, risks, issues, dependencies, defect trends, and overall quality status clearly to project stakeholders.

  • Coordinate and support UAT activities, including test preparation, execution support, defect triage, and status reporting.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, testing standards, documentation, and best practices.

  • Validate system functionality, usability, business processes, integrations, and data accuracy across multiple applications and workflows.

  • Perform production validation and post-implementation testing following system releases and deployments.

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships across IT and business teams to promote effective collaboration and successful project delivery.

  • Working knowledge of software testing methodologies and delivery frameworks, includingAgile, Waterfall, DevOps, and SAFe.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and business stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Strong hands-on experience withAzure DevOps, includingTest Plans, Backlogs, Dashboards, and Work Items.

  • Experience developing and maintaining test plans and detailed test scripts usingAzure DevOps Test Plans.

  • Experience creating, managing, and resolving Azure DevOps work items, includingBugs, Incidents, and Issues.

  • Proven experience translating business requirements and acceptance criteria into detailed, traceable test cases and test scripts.

  • Experience executing manual test cases and documenting test results, evidence, and defects.

  • Working knowledge ofAPI testing using Postman, including validating API requests, responses, status codes, and data.

  • Experience validating end-to-end business processes, system functionality, integrations, and data integrity.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-pacedAgile/Scrum project environment and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify, document, track, prioritize, and retest defects through successful resolution.

  • Strong understanding of QA processes, SDLC, defect life cycle, requirements traceability, and software quality practices.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple testing activities and priorities simultaneously.
