Fort sits at the intersection of machine learning, sensor-based motion tracking, consumer health, and premium hardware.

We work on hard technical problems like exercise detection from wrist-based motion data, strength training activity classification, recovery and activity insights, and personalized health guidance. Our goal is to turn raw sensor data into clear, useful feedback that helps people understand whether their training and recovery are actually adding up over time.

Our stack includes iOS mobile engineering, machine learning on time-series sensor data, wearable firmware, backend data systems, consumer AI health assistants, and premium hardware design and development. We care about building technology that feels invisible when it should, intelligent when it matters, and beautiful enough to wear every day.

Job description:

Fort is looking for a generalist SWE Intern to join us \~August to \~December. Responsibilities are flexible to experience, with preference for backend, data science, and QA.

Ideal candidate has evidence of project-based work overcoming significant technical challenges with high ownership.

We are in-person in San Francisco and support with relocation stipend.
