Freelance BI & Automation Specialist

About the role

This is afreelance, on-demand role focused on designing and delivering tools for internal Business Intelligence and Operations.
You’ll work directly with theOperations Director, who will define the business need. Your job will be to translate that into clean structures, working dashboards, and automated workflows — and then hand them over for internal maintenance.

You won’t be involved in day-to-day operations or ongoing upkeep; instead, you’ll support us throughdiscrete, well-scoped assignments requiring precision, data security, and technical autonomy.

Use of AI to speed up development (e.g., for scripts, transformations, documentation) iswelcome but not required.

Responsibilities

• Design and build operational dashboards (Looker Studio / G-Suite ecosystem)

• Structure data sources for reporting (Sheets models, imports, transformations)

• Create lightweight automations using AppScript, Google Workspace integrations, Zapier, and similar tools

• Support integrations between tools (HubSpot, Atlassian, Slack, Google Workspace; nice to have: Productive)

• Prepare clear documentation to hand over solutions to internal teams

• Ensure high standards ofdata security, access control, and compliance

• Provide technical consultation on best practices in data architecture and BI tooling

Requirements

• Strong experience withGoogle Workspace tools, including Google Sheets (advanced formulas, queries, pivots) and AppScript

• Proficiency in building dashboards inLooker Studio

• Experience with automation platforms (Zapier or equivalents)

• Ability to independently translate business needs into working data/dashboards/automations

• Experience integrating SaaS tools (HubSpot, Atlassian, Slack, etc.)

• Strong sense ofdata privacy, security, and compliance

• Excellent organisational skills and reliability in remote/async collaboration

• Very good English (spoken and written)

Nice to have:

• Experience with Productive

• Familiarity with BI pipelines, data modelling, or more advanced analytics

• Ability to leverage AI tools to accelerate development and documentation
