Can you discuss platform strategy with senior leadership in the morning and improve an integration, data pipeline or piece of software later that same day?

At FinancialLease.nl, we are building a digital organisation in which software, data and AI play an increasingly important role. We are therefore looking for a Lead Engineering who can bring these disciplines together.

You will be the technical anchor of our Engineering cluster within Digital Innovation. You provide direction, safeguard architectural coherence and help engineers grow. At the same time, you remain actively involved in building the solutions that move our organisation forward.

This is not a pure management position. It is also not a role where you disappear into the codebase and emerge three days later with an elegant solution nobody asked for. You connect strategy, architecture, people and delivery.

What will you do? - Shape our technology, data and AI direction

• You contribute to our technology and data and AI strategy and translate it into concrete initiatives from the innovation pipeline.

• You turn business objectives into scalable engineering capabilities and advise the board and senior stakeholders on platform, data and AI decisions.

• You also help determine when we should invest in new functionality and when technical debt deserves attention. Because moving quickly is useful, but only when the foundations can keep up.

• You take ownership of the architecture across backend development, integrations, data and AI.

• You design and review scalable architectures based on REST APIs, API first thinking and event driven principles. You ensure that systems and data sources such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Exact, GA4 and external API platforms can work together effectively.

• Security, scalability, reliability and observability are part of your decisions from the start, rather than items added shortly before release.

• A gross monthly salary between €6,000 and €7,500, depending on your knowledge, experience, and the value you bring to the team.

What do you bring?

• Experience & Knowledge:You have a bachelor's or master's level of thinking and working, combined with at least 7 to 10 years of experience in software development. You have extensive experience with software architecture, complex integrations, and modern cloud environments.

• Technical Expertise:You have experience with React, modern web applications, AWS/cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and DevOps principles. Experience with Google Cloud, BigQuery, Snowflake, serverless architecture, Docker, Kubernetes, Power BI, Looker, Salesforce, AI orchestration frameworks or data product ownership would be valuable.

• Communication:You communicate clearly with developers, management, and business stakeholders. You are comfortable asking critical questions and can confidently explain and defend technical decisions.

• Entrepreneurial Mindset:You think ahead, take ownership, and feel comfortable in a fast-paced environment. You bring structure without slowing down innovation.

• Personality:You are pragmatic, analytical, and decisive. You enjoy collaborating with others, remain calm under pressure, and are energized by solving complex challenges.
