Finance Transformation Consultant

About the Role

This is a six-month remote contract supporting a finance transformation engagement for an organization looking to modernize and scale its financial operations. The consultant will assess current-state processes and systems, surface gaps against industry best practices, and design forward-looking strategies that improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability across budgeting, forecasting, accounting, and reporting.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on finance transformation experience, strong financial modeling and data analysis skills, and comfort engaging executive and cross-functional stakeholders. Familiarity with ERP platforms (Oracle, SAP S/4HANA), automation tools, and regulatory compliance environments will set a candidate apart. Relevant certifications such as CPA or CFA are a plus, and the team asks that candidates highlight any certifications, industry knowledge, and technologies in their submission.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct in-depth assessments of existing financial processes, systems, and tools to identify improvement opportunities
2. Design finance transformation strategies aligned with organizational goals, targeting efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
3. Benchmark current performance against industry best practices to surface gaps and prioritize optimization efforts
4. Redesign core financial processes (budgeting, forecasting, accounting, reporting) to eliminate redundancies and streamline operations
5. Identify and implement automation opportunities that reduce manual effort, minimize errors, and improve data accuracy
6. Evaluate and recommend financial software solutions, including ERP, RPA, and data analytics tools, based on organizational fit
7. Develop reporting standards and dashboards that improve transparency, real-time visibility, and executive decision-making
8. Engage finance leaders, department heads, and executive teams to communicate transformation goals, progress, and outcomes clearly

Required Skills & Experience

• Demonstrated finance transformation experience (must-have)
• Strong proficiency in data analysis and financial modeling techniques
• Ability to assess complex financial data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights
• Experience with regulatory compliance and risk management in a finance context
• Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships across finance and executive teams
• Experience designing data management frameworks that ensure accurate, well-governed financial data

Preferred Skills

• CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or CPA designation
• Risk management and regulatory compliance experience
• Finance reporting design and finance strategy background
• Project management experience on transformation or systems initiatives
• Data analytics skills applied in a finance context
• Experience with Oracle or Oracle DB
• Experience with SAP Financials, including Cost Center Accounting (CCA) and Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC)
