Facility Operations, Maintenance & Safety

Are you an experienced, proactive, and highly organized Facility Manager with strong technical and operational management skills? Our client is seeking aFacility Manager to oversee the day-to-day operational readiness, maintenance, safety, and physical condition of its experience centre.

The successful candidate will ensure that gaming areas, VR equipment, electrical systems, plumbing, air-conditioning, restrooms, customer areas, offices, utilities, and other infrastructure remain safe, functional, clean, presentable, and ready for guests. The role requires a proactive approach to preventing equipment downtime, power failures, cleanliness issues, safety risks, and maintenance delays.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Facility Operations & Daily Readiness

• Take responsibility for the operational readiness of the facility before opening each day.

• Conduct daily opening and closing inspections.

• Ensure gaming areas, VR areas, reception spaces, event areas, restrooms, offices, storage areas, and customer-facing spaces are functional and presentable.

• Identify facility defects, damage, hazards, and maintenance requirements and ensure they are addressed promptly.

• Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly facility inspection checklists.

• Ensure essential utilities, including electricity, water, air-conditioning, and internet-dependent facility infrastructure, are operational.

• Escalate significant operational issues immediately to management.

• Track outstanding maintenance issues through to completion.

Games, VR & Equipment Maintenance

• Monitor the physical and operational condition of gaming machines, VR equipment, and supporting infrastructure.

• Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules and maintain equipment maintenance calendars and service histories.

• Receive and investigate equipment fault reports from Machine Operating Officers.

• Determine whether faults can be resolved internally or require external technical support.

• Coordinate technicians and approved vendors where specialist intervention is required.

• Track equipment downtime and ensure repairs are completed as quickly as reasonably possible.

• Maintain records of recurring faults to identify equipment requiring further servicing or replacement.

• Ensure equipment is properly handled and protected by employees and guests.

Preventive & Corrective Maintenance

• Develop and manage a structured maintenance programme covering electrical systems, lighting, plumbing, air-conditioning/HVAC, generators, and power infrastructure.

• Oversee maintenance of furniture, fixtures, gaming and VR equipment, doors, locks, restrooms, signage, and interior and exterior facility areas.

• Ensure fire and safety equipment and other facility assets are properly maintained.

Vendor, Technician & Contractor Management

• Source and coordinate qualified technicians, maintenance vendors, and contractors where required.

• Obtain quotations and compare pricing before recommending significant maintenance expenditure.

• Negotiate pricing, service timelines, and service-level expectations.

• Ensure vendors complete work to the required standard before sign-off.

• Maintain an approved vendor database and track vendor performance, response time, quality, and pricing.

• Ensure vendors do not unnecessarily disrupt customer operations.

• Verify completed work before invoices are submitted for payment approval.

• Maintain documentation for warranties, servicing agreements, and vendor contracts.

Health, Safety & Emergency Management

• Implement and enforce health and safety procedures.

• Conduct routine safety inspections and identify potential hazards before they become incidents.

• Ensure emergency exits remain accessible and fire extinguishers and other safety equipment are available and serviced.

• Ensure gaming and VR equipment is operated within applicable safety requirements.

• Support the enforcement of age, height, and other equipment restrictions where applicable.

• Maintain incident and accident records.

• Coordinate emergency responses for facility-related incidents and escalate serious incidents immediately to management.

• Conduct or coordinate periodic emergency and safety drills.

• Ensure staff understand relevant emergency procedures.

Cleanliness & Facility Presentation

• Monitor cleaning standards throughout operating hours.

• Regularly inspect restrooms, customer areas, gaming zones, and other high-traffic areas.

• Ensure waste is properly managed and maintenance work does not leave customer-facing areas untidy.

• Monitor pest-control and fumigation requirements.

• Ensure damaged furniture, fittings, signage, and décor are promptly reported and addressed.

• Maintain a physical environment that reflects the required customer experience and brand standards.

Inventory & Asset Management

• Maintain an accurate facility asset register and inventory records for equipment, tools, spare parts, and facility supplies.

• Monitor stock levels of essential maintenance items and establish minimum and reorder levels for critical supplies.

• Conduct periodic physical inventory counts.

• Maintain records of equipment movement, damage, repairs, and replacement.

• Reduce avoidable equipment loss, misuse, and damage.

• Ensure storage areas remain organized and controlled.

• Report discrepancies immediately.

Operational Staff Supervision

• Work closely with Customer Service Personnel, Machine Operating Officers, security, cleaners, and other operational employees.

• Support effective coordination of facility-related activities and operational requirements.

Events & Group Bookings

• Work with the Meeting & Event Coordinator before major events to confirm facility readiness.

• Confirm that required gaming and VR equipment is operational before events.

• Support layout changes, equipment positioning, and event setups.

• Coordinate facility requirements for large groups and ensure sufficient operational resources are available.

• Conduct pre-event facility inspections.

• Coordinate the rapid resolution of facility problems during events.

• Restore the facility to its normal operating configuration after events.

Cost Control & Facility Budget Management

• Develop and monitor facility-related expenditure.

• Track maintenance and repair costs.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• BSc/HND in Facility Management, Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related discipline.

• Minimum of 3–5 years' relevant experience in facility management, operations management, or a similar role.

• Previous experience in an entertainment centre, hospitality establishment, recreation facility, mall, cinema, family entertainment centre, retail operation, or other high-footfall customer environment is strongly preferred.

• Demonstrated experience managing technicians, contractors, and vendors.

• Experience managing electrical/mechanical systems and technical equipment is desirable.

• Experience supervising operational employees is required.

• Experience implementing preventive-maintenance systems is an advantage.

• Relevant facility-management, HSE, engineering, or technical certification is an advantage.
