Role Description
The Facilities Maintenance Assistant is a full-time, on-site position at The Brandeis School of San Francisco.
This role supports the daily operations of the campus by performing routine maintenance, basic repairs, and minor improvements to classrooms, offices, and common areas. Responsibilities also include supporting janitorial needs such as cleaning, restocking supplies, and helping ensure that indoor and outdoor spaces remain safe, orderly, and well maintained.
The Facilities Maintenance Assistant also helps set up and break down spaces for school events, monitors facility needs, and responds promptly to maintenance requests.
This position interacts regularly with students, faculty, staff, families, vendors, and visitors. The successful candidate will provide courteous, responsive support while following school safety procedures and policies.

Qualifications
Qualifications
- Experience with facilities operations, building maintenance, or general campus upkeep.
- Experience with janitorial services, including cleaning, sanitation, restocking, and routine upkeep of classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to respond to requests in a respectful and timely manner.
- Basic repair skills, including painting, minor plumbing, furniture repair, and general handyman work.
- Ability to identify maintenance or safety concerns and respond appropriately.
- Ability to lift and move equipment, furniture, supplies, and other materials as needed.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong reliability, punctuality, and follow-through.
- Prior experience in a school, hospitality, facilities, or building maintenance environment is preferred.
