TO QUALIFY TO JOIN OUR SENIOR SCHOOL AS A LIVE-IN CLINIC SISTER / REGISTERED NURSE YOU WOULD HAVE:
- Diploma or Degree in Nursing (General Nursing minimum; additional qualifications in Paediatrics or Primary Health advantageous)
- Current registration with SANC (South African Nursing Council).
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS)/First Aid certification (Advanced Life Support advantageous)
- Have attended a dispensing course (preferable).
- Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a clinical setting, preferably in paediatrics, primary health, or school health services
- Experience working with children and adolescents across a wide age range (early childhood to teenagers)
- Familiarity with school health policies, child safety standards, and safeguarding practices (advantageous)
- Be fully proficient in English, with a high level of written and verbal competence.
- Have an intermediate level of computer competency and be willing to learn new systems.
- Have clear criminal clearance certifications, including sexual offenders and child protection.
OUR EXPECTATIONS ARE THAT YOU WOULD:
- Live in our boarding establishment and be on campus and available on call to attend to any medical emergencies at school from Monday to Friday 19h00 to 07h30am, including the full day and night on Saturday and Sunday, during the school term.
