The Senior Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of the company’s IT infrastructure.

This role ensures the availability, security, and performance of server and cloud environments, supporting the operational needs of a telecom and networking organization.

The position covers Windows and Linux servers, virtualization platforms, networking, and Microsoft 365 services (SharePoint, Microsoft Entra ID, and Microsoft Teams).

Approximately15% of the role is dedicated to Level 2 support, assisting the Service Desk with infrastructure-related incidents. The role also requires the ability to drive activities inproject mode and actively contribute to infrastructure initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Administration

• Manage and maintainWindows Server and Linux environments
• Administer and monitor virtualization platforms (VMware, Proxmox, or equivalent)
• Ensure systemavailability, performance, patching, and lifecycle management
• Manage backup, monitoring, and disaster recovery processes (e.g., Veeam)
• Maintain certificate management and enforce security standards
• Manage network infrastructure (LAN, WLAN, user VPNs)

Cloud & Collaboration Platforms

• AdministerMicrosoft 365 services, including:
  • SharePoint Online
  • Microsoft Teams
  • Microsoft Entra ID
• ManageIdentity & Access Management and related security controls
• Support integration betweenon-premises infrastructure and cloud platforms
• AdministerMobile Device Management (MDM) solutions (e.g., Intune)
• Manage container environments (e.g., Docker)

Infrastructure Projects

• Contribute to the design and implementation of infrastructure projects
• Participate incloud adoption and infrastructure modernization initiatives
• Prepare and maintain technical and architectural documentation
• Coordinate with other ICT teams for infrastructure deployments and changes

Operational Support

• ProvideLevel 2 support (~15% of workload) for infrastructure-related incidents
• Assist the Service Desk with incident resolution and root cause analysis
• Contribute to continuous improvement of infrastructure operations
• Ensure daily backup and availability checks

Technical Skills

• Strong expertise inWindows Server administration (including Active Directory)
• Strong expertise inLinux system administration
• Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Proxmox)
• Knowledge of theMicrosoft 365 ecosystem (SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID)
• Understanding ofidentity management, security practices, and certificate management
• Experience withscripting and automation (PowerShell, Python)
• Knowledge ofstorage systems (SAN, NAS)

Experience and Education

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum of5 years’ experience in system administration or infrastructure engineering
• Experience inenterprise or telecom environments is a plus

• Fluent inEnglish
• Good command ofDutch (Flemish)
• Knowledge ofFrench is an asset
