The Advanced Microscopy team is seeking aMaterials Analyst to join our Dual Beam (SEMâFIB) group in Raleigh, NC. This is a handsâon, productionâfocused role centered on TEM lamella preparation using Dual Beam FIB tools, supporting advanced materials and semiconductor analysis for clients across multiple industries.
The successful candidate will be a strong technical contributor who thrives in a fastâpaced lab environment, enjoys focused tool time, and values producing highâquality, siteâspecific results within defined client timelines.
What Youâll Do
A typical day in this role includes:
- Preparinghighâquality, siteâspecific TEM lamella usingDual Beam FIBâSEM systems on novel materials and advanced semiconductor devices.
- Performing SEM imaging to support sample navigation, preparation, and quality verification.
- Managing multiple client samples, ensuring adherence to internal quality standards and turnaround commitments.
- Working closely with your team to optimize workflows, improve efficiency, and maintain consistent output.
- Collaborating with internal analytical teams and, as needed, clients to understand analysis requirements and standardized procedures.
This role is wellâsuited for analysts who prefer focused tool time, handsâon execution, and technical problemâsolving in a collaborative lab setting.
Work Schedule:Â Tuesdays to Saturdays, *5pm-2am (*10% evening shift differential will apply)

- Bachelorâs or Masterâs degree inMaterials Science & Engineering or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.This position is designed for early- to mid-career professionals (BS/MS level) and is not aligned with PhD-level candidates.
- Handsâon experience operatingDual Beam FIBâSEM systems, OR strong academic / earlyâindustry exposure with demonstrated capability to independently execute sample preparation workflows.
- Working knowledge ofelectron microscopy principles (SEM/TEM).
- General understanding ofsemiconductor device physics and failure analysis concepts gained through coursework, lab work, or prior industry experience.
- Strong problemâsolving skills and the ability to manage priorities in a fastâpaced, deadlineâdriven lab environment.Â

Physical Requirements:
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office or laboratory to access file cabinets, machinery, equipment etc.
- Ability to continuously operate a personal computer or lab equipment for extended periods of time (4 or more hours).
- Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate a keyboard and other lab equipment, use a telephone, access file cabinets and other items stored at various levels, including overhead. Â
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 90% of the time.Â
- Ability to speak and hear well enough to communicate clearly and understandably with sufficient volume to ensure an accurate exchange of information in normal conversational distance, over the telephone, and in a group setting.
- Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, make timely decisions in the context of a workflow, ability to communicate with visitors, ability to complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity quota.
