DescriptionĀ
As a highly valued member of the Forney TX Team, the Safety and Health Specialist will lead our safety initiatives within a high-volume distribution center environment. This role is critical in ensuring the health and safety of all employees, particularly in operations involving forklifts, heavy equipment, and fast-paced logistics. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with a passion for training, compliance, and continuous improvement.Ā
As the Safety and Health Specialist, you will:
Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs, policies, and procedures that align with OSHA standards and company goalsĀ
Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across the facility, including forklift operations and material handling zonesĀ
Lead and facilitate safety training programs for all employees, including new hire orientation, forklift certification, hazard communication, and emergency responseĀ
Investigate incidents, near misses, and injuries; prepare detailed reports and root cause analyses; implement corrective actionsĀ
Collaborate with operations leadership to ensure safe work practices and ergonomic improvementsĀ
Maintain accurate safety records, training logs, and compliance documentationĀ
Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and internal safety committeesĀ
Promote a culture of safety through employee engagement, recognition programs, and continuous educationĀ
Manage PPE inventory, signage, and safety equipment to ensure readiness and availabilityĀ
Support other duties and projects, as assigned, to enhance safety and operational excellenceĀ
Ā
Required education, experiences & skills:
Bachelorās degree in occupational safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)Ā
5+ years of safety management experience in a distribution, warehouse, or manufacturing environmentĀ
In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, forklift safety standards, and incident investigation protocolsĀ
Proven experience developing and delivering safety training programsĀ
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and coach across all levelsĀ
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management systemsĀ
Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergencies as neededĀ
Individuals with temporary visas such as E, F-1 with OPT or CPT, H-1, H-2, L-1, B, J or TN, or who need sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future, are not eligible for hireĀ

Preferred education, experiences & skills:
Certified Safety Professional (CSP), OSHA 30-hour certification, or equivalent
Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies in safety and process improvementĀ
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plusĀ

The facility serves as a critical hub within our supply chain network, helping ensure thetimely delivery of HVACR products and solutions to customers. Team members work closely across operations, customer service, materials, inventory, and transportation functions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.As the site continues to grow, employees have opportunities to develop their skills and advance their careers within Copeland's global organization.Ā
