Network Automation Engineer / Developer [Try'n'Hire]

We are looking for an experienced Network Automation Engineer / Developer to join a global infrastructure team. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain automation solutions that improve and support daily network operations in a large enterprise environment.

This is a try-and-hire opportunity. The assignment begins as a consulting engagement and is intended to transition into permanent employment with the client after approximately 6–12 months.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Python-based automation solutions

  • Automate configuration deployment, compliance checks, and data collection

  • Integrate network devices and platforms using REST, NETCONF, RESTCONF, and gRPC APIs

  • Develop tools for incident response, troubleshooting, inventory, and validation

  • Collaborate closely with network engineers and architects

  • Maintain code repositories, documentation, and reusable automation frameworks

  • Promote automation best practices and code quality

Required Skills and Experience

  • Strong enterprise networking background

  • Experience with Cisco and Juniper environments

  • Advanced Python development skills

  • Experience with Ansible, Nornir, Netmiko, and NAPALM

  • Experience with APIs and structured data formats such as JSON, YAML, and XML

  • Familiarity with Git and CI/CD concepts

  • Experience troubleshooting production networks

  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role and 10+ years of total professional experience

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Palo Alto firewalls

  • Network telemetry and observability platforms

  • IPAM and source-of-truth systems such as NetBox

  • SD-WAN, SDN, or Apstra experience

  • Azure or AWS networking

  • Certifications such as CCNP, DevNet, or JNCIS
