SAP Practice Head

We're looking for aHead of SAP to join our team in Lisbon, Portugal in a hybrid working mode. This senior leadership role will unify and lead the SAP practice across functional and technical disciplines, including Logistics/SCM, FICO, and ABAP/technical engineering. You will define practice strategy, drive business growth, establish technical and delivery governance, and lead a global team of SAP experts. This position requires a combination of deep SAP expertise, proven leadership experience, and the ability to influence both technical direction and client strategy in a rapidly evolving technology landscape.

Responsibilities

• Lead and unify the SAP practice, providing consistent direction across functional and technical teams
• Build and develop global high-performing teams, including practice leads, architects, consultants, and engineers
• Manage the entire employee lifecycle within the SAP organization: hiring, staffing, utilization, performance management, and compensation
• Foster knowledge sharing, mentoring, and cross-country collaboration to scale expertise across delivery locations
• Define and execute the SAP practice strategy, driving growth initiatives and market leadership
• Set and govern SAP architecture standards, development methodologies, and delivery frameworks
• Promote innovation through AI-assisted development, automation, and modern DevOps practices
• Oversee delivery of enterprise-scale SAP transformation projects, including S/4HANA migrations, ECC optimization, and BTP extensions
• Ensure quality through architecture reviews, coding standards, ATC checks, and reusable assets
• Advocate clean core principles and ensure compliance with SAP extensibility best practices
• Serve as senior executive contact for SAP engagements, ensuring client satisfaction and delivery success
• Drive presales and solution design activities, including workshops, estimations, technical proposals, and executive presentations
• Own delivery governance, project outcomes, and client relationship management across the SAP portfolio

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• 10+ years of SAP experience across functional (Logistics/SCM, FICO) and technical disciplines (ABAP, ABAP Cloud, S/4HANA), with extensive leadership exposure as a Practice Head, COE Leader, or equivalent
• Proven track record in leading complex, large-scale SAP programs globally
• In-depth understanding of modern SAP technology stack: S/4HANA, ABAP Cloud, RAP/CDS/OData, SAP BTP, and clean core principles
• Experience establishing technical governance and quality frameworks: ATC checks, CI/CD, DevOps practices
• Strong client-facing experience: presales, proposals, contract negotiations, and executive-level presentations
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills in multicultural environments
• Fluency in English (B2+); Portuguese speaker is highly desirable

• SAP certifications in functional or technical areas
• Experience with AI-enhanced SAP solutions or automation frameworks
• Familiarity with hybrid delivery models, global staffing, and innovation programs
