The person hired for the position of senior research engineer, Corporate Research Laboratory-Asia will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Collaborate with a cross-functional team of application engineers, scientists, and process engineers to enable next-generation products via Multiphysics/Finite Element Analysis modeling and simulation

• Understand, develop, and guide the establishment of digital twins via Finite Element Analysis Modeling.

• Support Finite Element Simulation engagements with customers

• Lead the development of a fundamental understanding of the mechanical behavior of 3M materials and products with Finite Element Analysis and other modeling and simulation tools.

• Provide guidance for development of novel materials that meet mechanical requirements of applications.

• Interface with customers to define problems and develop solutions.

• Initiate and contribute to the analysis and development of intellectual property

• 유한요소해석 모델링을 기반으로 디지털 트윈의 구축을 이해하고, 개발하며, 정립을 주도

• 고객 대상 유한요소 시뮬레이션 프로젝트를 지원

• 유한요소해석 및 기타 모델링·시뮬레이션 도구를 활용하여 3M 소재와 제품의 기계적 거동에 대한 근본적인 이해를 구축하는 업무를 주도

• 적용 분야의 기계적 요구사항을 충족하는 혁신 소재 개발에 대한 가이드 제공

• 고객과 협력하여 문제를 정의하고 해결책을 개발

• 지식재산 분석 및 개발을 주도하고 이에 기여

Required Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree (completed and verified prior to start) or Masters degree with 5+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or Chemistry

• Perform mechanical testing and analysis for soft materials, polymers and adhesives.

• Develop novel test methods for polymers and adhesives.

• Python 또는 기타 프로그래밍 언어 사용 경험

• 유한요소해석(FEA) 모델링 및 시뮬레이션 경험

• 글로벌 팀 협업 경험, 고객과의 긴밀한 협력 경험, 그리고 고성과 팀에서 리더로서 또는 팀원으로서 효과적으로 역할 수행한 경험

Preferred Qualifications

Additional qualifications that could help the candidate succeed even further in this role

• Experience with python or another programming language

• Experience with Finite Element Analysis modeling and simulation

• Experience with soft matter physics and mechanical behavior and polymer synthesis/structure

• Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to excel in cross-functional environments

• Must be highly motivated, self-starting and a creative problem solver
