About Encord

The data layer for physical AI

Tech description:

The role will be exposed to a broad tech stack (e.g. ReactJS, Python, REST & GraphQL, OpenCV, PyTorch, GCP, AWS & CUDA, Kubernetes) and the cutting edge of computer vision and deep learning.

Job description:

**About us**

Encord is the universal data layer for AI that helps 300+ AI teams train and run models on the right data. Our platform indexes, curates, annotates, and evaluates data across the full AI lifecycle โ€” from development through production.

Trusted by Woven by Toyota, AXA, UiPath, Zipline, and more. We're an ambitious team of 100+ working at the frontier of AI and have raised $60M in Series C funding from Wellington Management, CRV, Next47 and Y Combinator.

**The role**

You'll work directly with a Head of Robotics Operations on one of the most strategically important challenges in the business: building the human data supply chain that powers Encord's growth. As we push toward our most ambitious revenue targets, the ability to source reliable, high-quality human data at scale has never mattered more.

You'll own initiatives end-to-end โ€” from scoping the problem to building the plan to delivering results. You'll connect teams, build frameworks, and turn priorities into action. If you're a few years out of consulting and want real ownership early at a company doing something that genuinely matters, this is it.

**What you'll do**

- **Own strategic initiatives end to end.** Design and execute key programmes across our human data supply operations โ€” defining goals, building plans, and driving them through to results.

- **Connect the dots across the business.** Work closely with leadership to bring together internal teams and external partners through joint initiatives, ensuring priorities are clear and progress is moving.

- **Monitor the metrics that matter.** Develop a deep understanding of the levers that move the business. Track and interpret operational performance data, and surface the insights that help leadership make better decisions faster.

- **Build processes that hold up at scale.** Identify where things are breaking down and build the frameworks and playbooks that fix them properly โ€” including finding opportunities to use AI to automate and improve how we work.

- **Solve hard problems.** Dig into root causes, map the options, and recommend a clear path forward โ€” balancing rigour with speed.

- **Grow university and community partnerships.** Build and manage relationships with universities and research communities globally to expand and diversify our contributor network.

- **Drive the contributor rewards programme.** Design and iterate on how we incentivise and retain human data contributors โ€” building systems that scale with the network.

**Who we're looking for**

- You operate like an owner. You don't wait for the full brief โ€” you identify what needs to happen, structure the approach, and get it done.

- You're highly coachable and hungry to grow. You ask good questions, act on feedback quickly, and consistently raise your own bar.

- You're intelligent and intellectually curious. You can go deep on details without losing sight of the outcome.

- You hold yourself to a high standard. Whether it's a partner relationship or an internal process, you do it properly.

- You're ambitious. You want to be part of building something โ€” not just working at it.

**Experience Requirements**

- 2โ€“3 years of experience in management consulting, strategy, or a fast-paced operational role โ€” consulting background strongly preferred

- Strong structured problem-solving skills; you can turn an ambiguous challenge into a clear plan with measurable outcomes

- Comfortable working cross-functionally and influencing without authority

- Comfortable working with metrics, dashboards, and performance data to drive decisions

- Interest in AI, data, or the future of knowledge work is a strong plus

**Why Encord**

- Competitive salary and meaningful equity in a high-growth, Series C start-up

- Clear, accelerated growth opportunities โ€” within 12โ€“18 months, you'll have the chance to specialise or step into a leadership track

- Strong in-person culture: 3โ€“5 days/week in our London office

- Flexible PTO and generous paid vacation days

- Annual learning & development budget

- Comprehensive health coverage

- Regular travel to meet the India team and attend global company events

- Bi-annual company offsites, twice-weekly team lunches, and monthly socials
