Purpose 

The Automation & Software Specialistis responsible for the installation, configuration, integration, validation, support, and maintenance of software applications and automation systems associated with in vitro diagnostic (IVD) instruments. The role ensures the reliable operation of software-based solutions, laboratory connectivity, and instrument interfaces while supporting customers, internal stakeholders, and technical service teamsin accordance with company procedures, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. 

RoleKey Responsibilities 

• Provide remote and on-site technical support for software applications, automation systems, and diagnostic devices installed at customer facilities and within the company laboratory.  

• Install, configure, test, and commission software solutions, automation platforms, and diagnostic systems according to defined technical specifications and customer requirements.  

• Perform integration activities between diagnostic instruments and Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), ensuring correct data exchange and system functionality.  

• Support instrument validation, qualification, acceptance testing, and go-live activities for software and automation solutions. 

• Deliver customer training on software applications, automation workflows, and system operation to ensure effective and compliant use of installed solutions.  

• Analyze customer requirements andidentify opportunities for software upgrades, workflow optimization, automation enhancements, and system improvements.  

• Collaborate with Technical Support, Automation Management, IT Management, and external manufacturers to investigate and resolve software, connectivity, and automation-related issues.  

• Act as the primary technical interface with manufacturers’ softwaresupport organizations for escalation and resolution of complex technical issues.  

• Ensure proper documentation and traceability of software versions, configurations, updates, and customer interventions. 

• Support data integrity, cybersecurity, backup, and access-control practices associated with software and connected diagnostic systems. 

• Maintain technical knowledge through continuous training on new products, software releases, automation technologies, and connectivity standards. 

Requested Competences 

• Bachelor's orMaster's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automation Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Information Technology, ora related scientific discipline. 

• Previous experience in technical support, laboratory software, medical devices, diagnostic instrumentation, automation systems, or information technology environments. 

• Experience with laboratory workflows and diagnostic systems is considered an advantage. 

Technical Competencies 

• Knowledge of software installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance. 

• Knowledge of diagnostic instrumentation and laboratory automation systems.  

• Understanding of Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), instrument interfacing, and data communication protocols. 

• Basic knowledge of computer networks, operating systems, databases, and cybersecurity principles. 

• Ability toanalyze and resolve software, system integration, and connectivity issues. 

• Knowledge of quality and regulatory requirements applicable to medical devices and IVD environments. 

• Ability to prepare andmaintain technical documentation and service records. 

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and common software support tools. 

• Good command of written and spoken English.

Salary Range : €30,500 - €33,500 Annual Base

The salary range disclosed for this position is determined using objective and gender‑neutral criteria, such as required skills, competencies, professional experience, and relevant industry experience. Where applicable, the range is further aligned with the provisions and classification structures of the relevant collective bargaining agreement (CBA).”
