Planner I: $27.27- $34.78

Planner II: $30.59- $39.01

Planner III: $31.26- $41.42

Performs professional work in urban planning. Performs a variety of program or project planning activities which impact municipal development and include analyzing data and formulating and recommending plans and programs relevant to municipal conditions and needs. Employees are usually assigned to a particular planning subject area such as land use, transportation, urban design, growth management, public art, community/economic development, or historic preservation. Work is performed under the direction of a Planning Supervisor and reviewed through conferences, reports submitted, and results obtained.

Minimum Qualifications:

Planner I: Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Urban Planning, Architecture, or related fieldrequiredand six (6) months of experience in urban planning or related arearequired; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's Licenserequiredwithin 30 days of hire. Master’s Degree in related fielddesired. Experience with CAD, GIS, SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, or comparable design softwarepreferred.

Planner II: Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Urban Planning, Architecture, or related fieldrequiredand two (2) years of urban planning or related experiencerequired; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's Licenserequiredwithin 30 days of hire. Master’s Degree in related field and six (6) of months related experiencedesired. Experience with CAD, GIS, SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, or comparable design softwarepreferred.

Planner III: Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Urban Planning, Architecture, or related fieldrequiredand four (4) years of urban planning or related experiencerequired; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Bachelor’s Degree in any field is acceptable with AICP certification. Valid Florida Driver's Licenserequiredwithin 30 days of hire. Master’s Degree in related field and two (2) years of urban planning or related experiencedesired. Experience with CAD, GIS, SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, or comparable design softwarepreferred. AIA, ASLA, or AICP Certificationpreferred.

• Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
• Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
• Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
• Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
