The Child Development Center at Baptist Health Lexington provides a safe, nurturing, and developmentallyappropriate environment for children of employees. Our program offers age-appropriate learning experiences, structured activities, and compassionate care designed to support each child’s physical, emotional, social, and cognitive growth. Throughstrong communication with families and a commitment to excellence, the center promotes a positive and enriching experience for every child in our care. 

Responsible for supervision and planning for a group of children whilemaintaining a safe and nurturinglearning environment in which children can grow physically, emotionally,socially, and cognitively. 

Job Description: 

• Have knowledge of developmental milestonesappropriate for the age group and will effectivelyassessreadiness of children in the class. 

• Collect information to prepare daily lesson plans. 

• Maintain supplies and materials needed for activities. 

• Document daily attendance. 

• Prepareaccident/incident reports. 

• Maintain proper medication authorization and administration forms. 

• Ensure health, CPR/first aid certificates and annual training certificates (15 per year hire date to hiredate) are on file. 

• Communicate effectively with children,families and staff. 

• Resolve conflicts between children. 

• Encourage exploration, self-awareness,play based learning, and emotional wellbeing. 

• Useappropriate forms of guidance (i.e. redirecting and encouraging positive choice making for preschool age children). 

• Utilize developmentally appropriate practice strategies at all times (including fostering independencewhereappropriate, scaffolding, and asking children open- ended questions, fostering andencouraging language development in younger children). 

Job Requirements: 

• High School Diploma or Equivalent 

• One year related experience
