Job Description
In this role, you'll join the Government Assurance Team's Level 2 Networking team, where you'll work alongside experienced network specialists supporting enterprise and government customers across critical network environments. It's a great opportunity for someone with a solid networking foundation who wants exposure to large-scale enterprise networks, complex troubleshooting, and ongoing learning in a supportive team environment.
This role can be based in Canberra, Sydney or Melbourne and operates within a 24/7 shift roster, providing opportunities to develop a broad range of technical and operational skills.
Telstra Enterprise's Enterprise Operations Government Assurance Team is responsible for the day-to-day operation of critical customer services, including service delivery, support and network operations.
The Government Assurance Team (GAT) Level 2 Networking team provides advanced technical support within a Tier 1 Managed Services Network Operations Centre (NOC). The team is responsible for the operation, support and maintenance of enterprise customer data networks, ensuring services remain available, secure and performing at their best.
Please note: This role requires the successful candidate to hold, or be eligible to hold, a Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) Security Clearance.

Responsibilities of the role
You will provide specialised technical support to diagnose, investigate and resolve network incidents, service requests and operational issues for Telstra's enterprise customers, ensuring services are restored and maintained within agreed service levels.
This includes:
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, helping restore services for customers as quickly as possible.
- Investigate more complex problems across private networks and Telstra-managed services.
- Deliver network changes and service requests, ensuring work is completed accurately and on time.
- Work closely with customers, service desks, vendors, and technical teams to keep everyone informed and drive the best outcome.
- Contribute to improving processes, service quality, and the overall customer experience.
About You
We're looking for someone who has a passion for networking, enjoys problem-solving, and is keen to continue developing their technical capabilities in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Some experience in networking, telecommunications, IT operations, managed services, defence, or a similar technical support environment.
- Knowledge of network operations, troubleshooting, and enterprise networking technologies such as Cisco or Fortinet.
- Familiarity with configuring and supporting network devices, with an understanding of incident, change, and service management practices (ITIL exposure is a plus).
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse issues and identify practical solutions.
- A collaborative communicator who works well with customers and technical teams. Relevant certifications or exposure to technologies such as Cisco, Fortinet, wireless, F5, Juniper, or VoIP are welcome but not essential.
