Random House Children’s Books has an opportunity for an entry-level editorial assistant to support a team of 7 editors working on formats including board books, storybooks, leveled readers, chapter books, and activity books based on major licensed properties from Disney, Nickelodeon, Netflix, Universal, and many other licensors. Must be comfortable working on projects under tight deadlines.Â
Responsibilities will include:Â
• Scheduling MeetingsÂ
• Maintaining Publishing ListsÂ
• Writing title information sheets and web copyÂ
• Creating and tracking P&Ls (Profit and Loss documents)Â
• Obtaining licensor approvalsÂ
• Ordering author and licensor book copiesÂ
• Brainstorming new book and series ideas with editors and licensorsÂ
• Assisting editorial team with manuscript and book development Â
• Creating presentation decks for Licensors and Sales ConferencesÂ
• Presenting individual titles and book series at Sales ConferencesÂ
• Handling sensitive embargoed materialsÂ
• BA in EnglishÂ
• Interest in and enthusiasm for licensed book publishingÂ
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlinesÂ
• Excellent organizational skillsÂ
• Strong written and verbal communication skillsÂ
• Excellent attention to detail and follow-up skillsÂ
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe AcrobatÂ
This position is open to remote.  Â
