We are looking for a hardware developer with experience in the field of power electronics and the ambition and potential to develop their knowledge and contribute to the growth of our international team’s expertise.
🔧 TEAM AND PRODUCT
• At KOSTAL Electro Mobility (KEM), we develop power electronics for electromobility, in particular on-board chargers (OBCs) and HV/LV DC/DC converters.
• We work closely with colleagues in Germany and at other KOSTAL sites.
• We design, prototype and test the equipment at the Prague R&D centre, where the entire product is developed through multidisciplinary collaboration between hardware, software, design and other specialist teams.
🛠️ WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
• You will be involved in hardware development throughout the entire development cycle: from calculations and analyses, through schematic design and collaboration on PCB design, to the construction and testing of prototypes.
• You’ll work in a modern laboratory with a specialised workstation for evaluating MOSFET behaviour (8-channel oscilloscope, optically isolated probes with very high CMRR, specialised shunts), an EMC workstation and a climatic chamber.
• The role will also involve streamlining development through automation, for example using Python and AI.
• At a senior level, you may also get involved in research-focused topics, such as magnetics, EMC or the optimisation of converters with selected topologies, often in collaboration with industrial partners.
⭐ WE WOULD ALSO VALUE
• Experience in the automotive sector or a similar environment, for example with relevant standards and processes, including ISO 26262.
• Programming experience related to the creation of tools for hardware development, ideally in Python.
⚡ WHAT WE OFFER
• A friendly, young and ambitious team, supported by experts from Czech and international R&D centres.
• A modern laboratory and state-of-the-art equipment located directly within the office building, operational from 2024.
• A real opportunity to contribute to innovation in one of the newest segments of the automotive industry.
• The opportunity to utilise AI, in-house AI tools and the Python platform to streamline hardware development.
🎁 BENEFITS
• Flexible working hours
• 5 weeks’ annual leave
• Contribution to a supplementary pension scheme
• Seniority-based pay
• Meal allowance and MultiSport card
• Covered parking for cars, motorbikes and bicycles, and a shower for cyclists
• Regular healthy breakfasts, team events and free hot and cold drinks
Are you looking for an inspiring environment where your ideas and achievements will really be noticed? Join us! At KOSTAL, we nurture the talent that is shaping the future of electronics.
• Experience in the development of power electronics hardware; at least 2 years, ideally 3 to 7 years’ experience.
• A passion for development, a desire to learn and the ambition to become a top-class hardware developer.
• Analytical thinking, the ability to see the bigger picture, attention to detail and a sense of responsibility.
• A university degree and a solid theoretical grounding in electronics and related physics.
• Professional competence to work independently on electrical equipment in accordance with Government Regulation No. 194/2022, or a willingness to obtain this qualification and the prerequisites for doing so.
• Working knowledge of Czech and English.
