Position Summary
The Graduate Advisor II is responsible for reviewing transfer work, providing academic advice, and assisting incomingÂ
students with enrollment for the current semester.
Essential Job DutiesÂ
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:Â
• Understands all ECU degree requirementsÂ
• Understands all ECU program articulationsÂ
• Admits students to Graduate ProgramÂ
• Compiles advising files for each student assignedÂ
• Develops a degree plan for studentÂ
• Provides academic advice and helps students enroll in recommended coursesÂ
• Performs degree auditing and graduation processingÂ
• Helps with Graduate CommencementÂ
• Travels for necessary trainingÂ
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or designee.

Qualifications Â
• Demonstrate working knowledge of office practices and methods.Â
• Coordinate work with other employees.Â
• Organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives and exercise independent judgement based onÂ
university policy and procedures. Â
• Establish and maintain effective work relationships with all stakeholders—faculty, staff, students, and the community.Â
• Provide a friendly, customer-service environment. Â
• Maintain confidentiality regarding protected information. Â
• Manage deadlines on multiple projects.Â
• Ability to work unsupervisedÂ
• Effectively use office equipment and software including, but not limited to, the Microsoft Office 365 Suite.
Licenses/CertificationsÂ
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferredÂ
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesÂ
• Must have a strong work ethic and lead by example Â
• Must be a professional, credible and respected representative of the institution internally and in the communityÂ
• Demonstrated willingness and ability to act ethically and socially responsibleÂ
• Ability to communicate in a courteous manner
