About the restaurant
Our Riva/Nordic Village restaurant is a seasonal outlet operating as Riva Terrace Restaurant & Bar in the spring and summer months and Nordic Village during the late fall and winter months. Season-to-season, this restaurant is operated by the same passionate team, out of the same remarkable space, but offers uniquely different dining experiences reflective of the beloved change of seasons in Minnesota.
About therole
Basic Purpose: Greet and seat guests while coordinating guest reservations and responding to inquiries in an efficient,courteous and professional manner to achievemaximum customer satisfaction whilecomplying with all Four Seasons’ policies.
What you will do
Seat guests promptly at atable pre-set for the number in the party and according to guest preference.
Set up host/hostess stand, review guest reservation book, and makerecommendations as to the set-up of the room,maintain a station chart and cover count for the restaurant while recognizing themaximum workload capacity of each serverin order to meet Four Seasons Service standards.
Answer telephones according to Four Seasons standards andtake guest reservations or provide informationregarding the restaurant or any other hotel service.
Anticipate the needs of guests, respond accordingly to guest inquiries or problems, and recognize regular guests by name andutilize the guest’s name consistently.
Inspect andmaintain daily menus to ensure quality, condition and appearance while developing a complete working knowledge of all menu items and daily specials.
Comply with FourSeasons’ Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct asset forth inEmPact.
Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
What you bring
High school education or equivalent experience
Six to twelve months of restaurant, food and beverage, or equivalent experience isrequired
Working knowledge of the restaurant aspect of Four Seasons services, policies or operations and general knowledge of the hotel (working knowledgegenerally learned on the job)
Ability tooperate computer equipment and the reservations system
Reading,writing and oralproficiency in the English language
Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights,weekends and holidays
