Role summary:
The Senior Manager, Assortment Insights helps shape customer-focused assortment and space strategies across Walmart. By combining advanced analytics, localization, trend intelligence, customer insights, and AI-enabled capabilities, this role uncovers growth opportunities and delivers recommendations that influence how products are selected, placed, and experienced by customers. The position partners closely with merchandising and cross-functional teams to translate complex data into clear, compelling stories that drive action. Through strategic communication, analytical rigor, and scalable solutions, this role accelerates decision-making, aligns stakeholders, and drives measurable business impact.
About the team:
The Assortment Insights team leads Walmart’s customer-focused assortment and space decisions at scale. Utilizing advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, customer behavior insights, and localization strategies, the team identifies emerging opportunities to shape product offerings and experiences both in stores and online. Collaborating closely with merchants and cross-functional leaders, the team transforms data into actionable strategies that drive growth, enhance customer satisfaction, and support timely, informed business decisions. Through innovation and continuous learning, the team plays a key role in defining the future of merchandising at Walmart.
What you'll do:

Identify emerging customer, category, and market opportunities through advanced analytics, trend intelligence, and customer insights.
Shape assortment, localization, and space strategies that drive growth and improve customer experiences across stores and digital channels.
Translate complex analyses into clear business narratives and executive-level recommendations that influence merchandising decisions.
Develop scalable analytical solutions, decision frameworks, and AI-enabled capabilities that improve how assortment decisions are made.
Partner closely with merchants and cross-functional stakeholders to align on priorities, evaluate opportunities, and drive measurable business outcomes.
Continuously challenge existing thinking, test new approaches, and uncover innovative ways to better serve customers and accelerate growth.

What you'll bring:

A strong blend of analytical thinking, business acumen, and merchandising curiosity, with experience turning data into actionable business strategies.
Expertise in advanced analytics, customer insights, trend identification, and data visualization to uncover opportunities and solve complex business challenges.
The ability to transform complex information into compelling stories that influence decisions and inspire action at all levels of the organization.
Experience building scalable analytical solutions, decision frameworks, or AI-enabled capabilities that improve business performance.
A track record of partnering across teams to align priorities, challenge assumptions, and drive measurable outcomes.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
