Internship Details: This internship/co-op opportunity is based inToronto, Ontario and follows ahybrid work model. Candidates should be able to work from ourdowntown Toronto office 1–2 days per week, depending on team and business needs.

We are considering students available forinternship/co-op terms ranging from 8 to 16 months beginning in May/June 2027

Role Overview
As a Software Developer Intern on the Genesys Cloud team, you will embed directly into an agile engineering team delivering high-impact features across our cloud platform. In this role, you will specifically contribute to projects focused on modern reporting and data insights, leveraging cutting-edge AI tools to accelerate development, improve software quality, and enhance engineering workflows.

You’ll experience a high-energy development environment where quality, automation, and scalability matter—all supported by a collaborative, friendly, and laid-back team culture. Alongside hands-on technical experience, you can expect dedicated mentorship, exposure to leadership across our Cloud business, and flexible work arrangements (in-office, hybrid, or fully virtual depending on location).

Responsibilities / Job Duties

• Build & Deliver: Collaborate with team members to design, develop, and test scalable, reliable features powering our reporting and analytics solutions.

• AI-Augmented Engineering: Actively leverage modern AI coding assistants and development tools to explore, prototype, write, and refactor code, accelerating time-to-market.

• Engineering Quality & Testing: Write and maintain comprehensive unit, integration, and acceptance tests to ensure enterprise-grade stability and performance.

• Collaborative Development: Actively participate in peer code reviews, architectural discussions, and agile team ceremonies.

• Security & Compliance: Understand and uphold Genesys' strict standards for security, data privacy (including HIPAA compliance guidelines), and our Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.

• Have Fun: Bring your enthusiasm, engage with teammates, and enjoy learning and building great software together.

Required Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• Familiarity with at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or Java).

• Familiarity with Git version control systems (e.g., Bitbucket, GitHub, or GitLab).

• Demonstrated curiosity and eagerness to learn new technologies, cloud architectures, modern data/reporting stacks, and stay on top of the rapid evolution of AI.

• Strong communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

• Preferred / Bonus Qualifications

• Hands-on experience or active experimentation with modern AI developer tools and agentic coding CLI/assistants (e.g., Claude Code, Kiro, Cursor, Copilot, or similar LLM-driven development tools).

• Exposure to data visualization, reporting pipelines, or API integrations.

• Prior experience or coursework in automated testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, or cloud services (e.g., AWS).

Compensation:

This role has a market-competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation range listed below. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location. This role might also be eligible for a commission or performance-based bonusopportunities.
