Role summary:The (USA) Principal, Software Engineer leads platform engineering efforts by delivering scalable, cloud-native solutions and reusable infrastructure components. This role drives the full software development lifecycle across multiple teams, integrating AI/ML technologies to enhance system capabilities. The position requires strategic technical leadership, mentorship, and collaboration to align engineering initiatives with business objectives. The Principal Engineer ensures high-quality, reliable software delivery while fostering innovation and continuous improvement. About the team:
The team tackles complex business and technical challenges within Growth Tech by leveraging advanced AI coding agents across planning, design, implementation, testing, and operations. They set standards for scalable, reliable, and secure production systems at the intersection of software engineering, data, and AI. Delivering valuable insights to suppliers and merchants, the team builds platforms for intelligent automation, including agent orchestration and customer-facing AI solutions. Focused on rapid iteration and adaptive systems that learn from usage, the team fosters collaboration and continuous improvement to drive innovation in a dynamic environment.
What you'll do:
- Lead platform engineering efforts to deliver scalable, cloud-native infrastructure and reusable tooling aligned with strategic roadmaps.
- Drive full software development lifecycle activities, including design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance across multiple teams.
- Architect and implement AI/ML-enabled applications and intelligent systems serving millions of users.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, promoting best practices and innovation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable technical requirements and measurable success metrics.
- Ensure high system availability, fault tolerance, and performance through sound architectural decisions.
- Foster continuous improvement by integrating feedback and advancing engineering processes and tools.
What you'll bring:
- Extensive experience in platform engineering leadership, delivering scalable and reliable cloud-native architectures.
- Proven expertise in designing and implementing distributed systems optimized for real-time data processing and AI/ML integration.
- Strong proficiency in Python and familiarity with AI agents, model-driven design, and cloud computing architecture.
- Demonstrated ability to lead full software development lifecycles, including CI/CD, observability, and incident response.
- Skilled in providing technical mentorship and fostering engineering excellence across teams.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills to engage cross-functional stakeholders and drive alignment.
- Commitment to innovation, continuous improvement, and maintaining high standards of technical quality and integrity.

Bentonville, Arkansas US-10735: The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00
Bellevue, Washington US-11663: The annual salary range for this position is $132,000.00 - $264,000.00
Sunnyvale, California US-11658: The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00 - $286,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
