As a Portfolio Manager, you won't just manage acquisitions. You'll drive operational excellence in acquired companies, bring them to CSI standards, and position each as a domain knowledge champion within its market. You'll balance disciplined M&A with hands-on business coaching—a unique blend of capital allocator and people leader.

The Portfolio Manager oversees a portfolio of Vertical Market Software (VMS) companies in the Nordic with Denmark as a starting point, balancing financial performance with long-term value creation. This role combines strategic leadership, M&A execution, and business unit coaching to drive sustained growth.

Key responsibilities include coaching Business Unit Leaders, executing acquisition strategy aligned with portfolio goals, and embedding TSS and Constellation Software Inc. (CSI) best practices across all portfolio companies. Drives both organic growth through Business Unit optimization and acquired growth through disciplined M&A; balances short-term integration with long-term value creation

Time allocation:40% VMS Allocator (capital deployment atogether with M&A team) / 60% VMS Operator (business performance oversight)

For this role, the following capabilities are essential:

Leadership Capabilities

Vertical Market Software (VMS) Allocator

Identifies, evaluates, and executes acquisition opportunities aligned with portfolio strategy and growth objectives

Conducts due diligence, assesses risks, and develops integration plans for acquired businesses

Collaborates with legal, finance, HR, and operational teams to ensure seamless deal execution and post-merger integration

Strategic Leader & Investor

Drives execution speed in acquisition integration while inspiring visionary leadership

Coaches leadership teams using TSS best practices and follows up on execution discipline

Creates stakeholder alignment and collaboration while enabling independent Business Unit growth

Mentors Business Unit Leaders to develop their capabilities and maximize Business Unit potential

Leads by example, inspiring teams at all levels through clear vision, consistent communication, and commitment to shared goals

Develops future leaders by investing in talent cultivation and providing ongoing education and mentorship

Business Coach

Empathizes with Business Unit Leaders through powerful questions rather than directive solutions

Facilitates development and success of Business Unit Leaders

Maintains accessibility and responsiveness to Business Unit Leader needs

Vertical Market Software (VMS) Operator

Understands VMS operational principles: generating capital, managing costs, and optimizing business performance in day-to-day decision-making

Drives 'fixing the core' initiatives to bring acquired BUs to CSI operational and financial standards; escalates when BUs fall below TDL benchmark

Position in Organization

Reports to: General Manager, Country - Total Specific Solutions

Requirements

Master's degree or equivalent (MSc level academic and professional development)

Experience & Demonstrated Capability

Minimum 5 years' experience leading a portfolio of companies in an international environment

Proven experience managing self-owned or partner-driven business in multi-stakeholder environments

Financial savviness will be a benefit in dialogue and reporting with TSS

Experience from M&A projects like dialogue with targets, leading Due Diligence and negotiation

Demonstrated success at senior leadership level executing

Operates at IDE D-level with results and values alignment
