We are hiring for aDepartment Manager, Restaurantat ourWoodgroveSave-On-Foods location in Nanaimo, BC.
This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, and the successful applicant must have open availability.
You will be responsible for:
- Leading the department, acting as a coach, mentor, and resource while fostering a positive team environment focused on Always Customer First service.  Â
- Delivering operational excellence through customer experience, health and safety, food safety, and merchandising.Â
- Engaging and retaining team members through training, performance management, rewards/recognition, and succession planning. Â
- Communicating key messages and business objectives to team members in the department, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Â
- Reviewing and analyzing financial reports, identifying opportunities to improve performance, and presenting KPIs to the management team.Â
- Analyzing business/HR metrics and dashboards of the department.  Â
- Supporting with implementing strategies to grow sales and customer loyalty.  Â
- Leading inventory counts/period end of the department and resolving issues as required.  Â
- Performing all job duties throughout the department as needed, including lifting weight (up to 50 lbs), standing for long periods of time, and working in hot/cold environments.   
You have:
- 1-3 years of retail experience.  Â
- Leadership experience is an asset. Â
- Food Safe Certification. Â
- A post-secondary education in a business related field is an asset.   Â
- Experience and/or knowledge with:Â
- Achieving sales targets and profitability.   Â
- Executing merchandising plans and creating in-store displays to drive sales.  Â
- Human Resources (e.g. training, development, coaching and mentoring).  Â
- Workforce planning and scheduling considerations.
- Health and safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.Â
- Proficiency with computer applications.  Â
