At DFDS, we're looking for a Product Owner to lead the evolution of our Customer Identity and Consent Management platforms, critical capabilities that enable secure, seamless, and compliant digital experiences across our passenger, logistics, and freight businesses.

You will join Group Technology & Data Tribe, in the Customer Data and Identity platform team responsible for the development and ownership of platforms for customer identity and access management and consent solutions.
You'll work at the intersection of technology, customer experience, and business strategy, shaping the future of how customers interact with DFDS. You'll collaborate closely with skilled engineers, marketing stakeholders, and product teams across the organization, translating complex needs into scalable platform solutions that create real business value.

This role will require close collaboration with engineering and requires strong platform thinking. Significant part of this role will be hands-on execution — driving adoption of the platforms internally — and ensuring operational processes aligns consistently with our tech stack. Another important aspect of this role will be close collaboration with other engineering teams across DFDS to enable them to work more independently and efficiently with platforms.

When you join us, you will:

• Own the vision and strategy for the Customer Data and Identity Platform Team, driving innovation and aligning processes with a user centric approach.

• Lead the development and enhancement of Customer Data and Identity Platform Team initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals and user needs.

• Work closely with group marketing and IT teams to translate stakeholder needs and market insights into product strategies that drive measurable commercial outcomes—such as increased user retention, platform stability, and engagement.

• Manage and prioritize the team backlog based on their potential to deliver business value.

• Develop and track long-term objectives and ambitions in alignment with key stakeholders.

• Establish and track KPIs to measure the success of the product and make data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.

• Provide expertise and direction to DFDS engineering teams, group marketing and other stakeholders to maximize the value of our platforms and systems.

• Stay ahead of emerging trends and competitor offerings, such as AI-driven development and future CIAM solutions to ensure our product remains competitive and innovative.

• Coach and empower team members in structured decision-making, helping them develop ownership, confidence and the ability to work in a self-driven and collaborative way.

As our new Product Owner, you will be a part of an ambitious team with competencies with strong backend development skills and agile coaching.

To succeed in this role, we believe you bring:

• Previous experience as a Product Owner, successfully delivering platform or technology-driven products driving user-centric innovation.

• Experience working in agile and cross-functional environment.

• Hands-on experience with Customer Identity & Access Management (CIAM), consent management, or related customer data platforms.

• A technical background as a backend developer, solution architect, platform engineer, or similar, enabling you to engage confidently in technical discussions and challenge solution designs.

• Experience translating regulatory requirements such as GDPR into technical capabilities, processes, and platform solutions.

• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to navigate complex environments across teams, countries, and business domains.

• The ability to balance long-term product strategy with day-to-day execution, ensuring continuous value delivery and platform adoption.

• A data-informed mindset with experience defining KPIs, analyzing trends, and using insights to guide product decisions.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to align engineers, business stakeholders, and leadership around a common vision.

• A proactive and curious approach, challenging the status quo and identifying opportunities to improve developer experience, platform adoption, and business outcomes.

• Experience coaching teams, facilitating decision-making, and fostering ownership and accountability is considered an advantage.
