Application Support Engineer (GCP & Media Platforms)

We are looking for anApplication Support Engineer to provide production support forcloud-native media applications running onGoogle Cloud Platform (GCP) andKubernetes.
This role focuses onL2/L3 application support,incident response,root cause analysis (RCA), andon-call rotations for services built inGo and deployed usingGKE, Cloud Run, and GCP Workflows.

You will support platforms forlive streaming, video transcoding, Video-on-Demand (VOD), and Media Asset Management (MAM) in high-availability, time-sensitive environments.
Full-time (40h) role with on-call rotations, including weekend coverage.

Responsibilities

  • ProvideL2/L3 production support for critical media applications
  • Troubleshoot application, platform, and infrastructure issues acrossGCP and Kubernetes
  • Analyzelogs, metrics, and traces to identify root causes
  • Resolve incidents usingrunbooks and SOPs, escalating when required
  • Partner withEngineering and SRE teams, providing clear technical context
  • Supportlive streaming pipelines andvideo transcoding workflows
  • Diagnose issues related to:

- Stream ingest failures

- Transcoder job errors and performance bottlenecks

- Output quality, latency, and availability

  • Participate inon-call rotations, including weekends
  • Document incidents,RCAs, corrective and preventive actions
  • Continuously improvemonitoring, alerting, runbooks, and SOPs

Required

  • Experience inApplication Support, Production Support, or Reliability Engineering roles
  • Hands-on experience withGo (code reading and debugging)
  • Strong experience withKubernetes andGoogle Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Proven experience supportinglive streaming and video transcoding workflows
  • Experience participating inon-call rotations
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to perform effectively during high-pressure incidents

Nice to Have

  • Experience inmedia, broadcast, or streaming platforms
  • Familiarity withlive event operations
  • Experience withGrafana, Prometheus, or similar monitoring tools
  • Experience withServiceNow, PagerDuty, Slack
  • Understanding ofSRE concepts (SLIs, SLOs, error budgets)
