Job Type: Contract
Work Arrangement: Partial Onsite – Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday onsite and as needed
Standard Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM ET, Monday–Friday (40 hours/week)

Education

• Bachelor's degree inComputer Science, Information Technology, or another job-related field.
• Degree equivalency accepted:
  • 4 years of job-related work experience,or
  • 2 years of job-related experience plus an associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or another job-related field.

Required Experience

• Minimum4 years of application development, systems testing, or related experience.
• Experience developing and supportingmainframe applications.
• Experience working withbatch and online application development.
• Experience troubleshooting and supporting production applications.

Required Technical Skills

• COBOL – Batch and online application development
• JCL (Job Control Language) – Batch processing, job scheduling, restart/recovery
• DB2 – SQL development, database access, and performance tuning
• CICS – Online transaction processing and application support

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

• IMS – Database and transaction processing

Team / Environment

The role supportsmission-critical healthcare claims processing applications and related business functions. The developer will work on applications that support core commercial systems and business operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Design, develop, modify, test, and maintainCOBOL applications.
• Develop and maintainJCL processes for batch processing, scheduling, and restart/recovery.
• Develop and modifyDB2 SQL and support database access and performance.
• Develop and supportCICS transactions and online applications.
• Troubleshoot and resolveproduction issues.
• Support new functionality, implementations, and ongoing business initiatives.
• Participate in application testing and production support.
• Collaborate with application subject matter experts and other technical teams.
• Maintain ownership and accountability for assigned applications and issues.

On-Call / Work Schedule

• Participation in arotating on-call schedule is required after onboarding.
• Approximatelyone week of on-call coverage every 8–12 weeks.
• Primary on-call developers are supported by experienced application subject matter experts.
• Occasionalovertime, evening, or weekend work may be required for production issues, implementations, or business needs.
• No regular travel requirement is specified.
