Scope of the Role

Thee-Powertrain Validation Planning Support Engineer works closely with the e-Powertrain (ePt) system design team to ensure technical risks are identified, prioritized, and mitigated for each ePt configuration. The role's scope includes:

• Risk Management: Collect risks identified in DFMEAs, sort them by RPN (Risk Priority Number = likelihood × severity), and help identify simulation or physical test activities (bench, lab, full machine) to mitigate those risks within cost and time constraints.
• Validation Planning: Develop and refine validation plans, balancing technical risk reduction with program timelines and budgets.
• System Readiness: Gather readiness summaries from component and subsystem teams.
• Reporting: Create concise validation status slides for NPI Gateway reviews.
• Issue Management: Maintain and manage issue lists for various ePt programs.
• Forecasting: Forecast defects per unit and create proactive reliability curves to predict system performance and durability over product life.
• Collaboration: Work in an office environment, collaborating with local and global teams. The validation team includes 2–3 experienced engineers who will guide the individual.

Technical Skills

• Hands-on Test Experience: Required for fuel systems, engines, full machines, or vehicles. Desired for electric drivetrain systems.
• DFMEA/FMEA Knowledge: Ability to interpret and act on risk assessments.
• Validation Planning: Experience in planning and executing validation activities, including simulation and physical testing.
• System Integration: Understanding of how subsystems interact within the e-powertrain configuration.
