Join Boots’ Central Healthcare Services team in Nottingham as Deputy Healthcare Services Manager. Help lead our remote pharmacist team to deliver safe, high-quality New Medicines Service (NMS) consultations and support the development of future remote clinical services.

What you’ll be doing
As the Deputy Healthcare Services Manager, you will play a pivotal role in our Central Operations team. You will support the oversight of a dedicated team, ensuring that our healthcare services are delivered to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities
  • Deputise for the Manager to maintain safe, effective service delivery and make day-to-day operational decisions, escalating strategic, financial or people matters when appropriate.
  • Work alongside colleagues as a pharmacist, delivering NMS consultations and supporting the team with clinical queries.
  • Use service data, including claimed calls, contact rates, productivity and patient experience, to improve performance and match capacity to demand.
  • Coach and develop pharmacists through quality reviews, feedback and performance conversations.
  • Help maintain clinical governance, compliance with NHS service requirements, Boots procedures and information governance.
  • Support recruitment, induction and the introduction of new remote clinical services and systems; work with Quality, NHS Services, Digital and Workforce Planning teams.

What you’ll need to have (our must-haves)
  • Proven experience in healthcare management or a similar role.
  • Experience leading pharmacy teams in community pharmacy, remote services or healthcare operations.
  • Current registration as a pharmacist with the GPhC, PSNI or PSI, with up-to-date continuing professional development.
  • Knowledge of NHS pharmacy services, particularly NMS, and sound clinical judgement.
  • Experience using performance data to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Ability to coach colleagues, have constructive performance conversations and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritise competing demands while maintaining patient safety, service quality and professional standards.

It would be great if you also have
  • Experience delivering or helping to develop remote clinical services.
  • Experience supporting recruitment, induction or pharmacist development.
  • Experience implementing new systems, service improvements or transformation initiatives.
  • Experience working with quality, digital or workforce planning teams.
