Senior Automation Engineer (Selenium)

We’re looking for a seasonedSenior Automation Engineer (Selenium) with 7–10 years of hands-on experience on end-to-end test automation across web applications. The incoming resource will architect robust frameworks, drive automation implementation across projects, mentor engineers, and collaborate closely with Product, Dev, and DevOps to build and maintain automation test architecture.

Key Responsibilities

Automation Strategy & Frameworks

Design, build, and maintain scalableSelenium automation frameworks inJava using patterns likePage Object Model (POM) and Page Factoryin aBDD Cucumber framework.

Establish coding standards, Reporting framework, code review practices, and maintain test automation best practices.

Test Design & Execution

Translate requirements/user stories intomaintainable automated test suites (UI, API, and integration).

ImplementBDD (Cucumber) or data-driven strategies; build reusable utilities and test data management workflows.

Ensure test coverage acrosscross-browser.

CI/CD & Infrastructure

Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions).

Contribute to build verification tests (smoke/sanity) andgating policies for deployments.

Non-Functional & Tooling

Collaborate onperformance (e.g., JMeter/Gatling) baselines andobservability of test runs.

ImplementAPI test automation (e.g., RestAssured, Postman).

Contribute totest data andenvironment management strategies.

Process & Collaboration

Work withinAgile (Scrum/Kanban) ceremonies and contribute to acceptance criteria and test strategy at story/epic level.

Document frameworks, test plans, and test reports; communicate risks, coverage, and readiness clearly to stakeholders.

Must-Have Qualifications

7–10 years of SDET experience with strong emphasis onSelenium WebDriver.

Proficiency inone or more languages:Java (preferred),Python.

Hands-on withTestNG,Maven/Gradle,Git, andCI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins/GitHub Actions).

Deep knowledge ofOOP, design patterns (POM, Factory, Strategy), and clean code practices.

Proven experience implementingBDD frameworks (Cucumber) and writing Gherkin scenarios.

Experience inAPI automation (RestAssured/Karate/Postman-Newman).

Experience triaging flaky tests, root-cause analysis, and stabilizing pipelines.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and mentoring skills; ability to influence cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-Have Skills

Basicperformance testing knowledge (JMeter/Gatling).
