Mechanical Engineer-Data Center IT Rack Feasibility

 

Mechanical Engineering leads and delivers the development of innovative and compliant mechanical design solutions. Our team conducts feasibility studies and preliminary testing of mechanical products, instruments, and subassemblies for new products and technologies, interlocking with cross-functional downstream stakeholders. 

 

What you’ll achieve: 

As a Mechanical Engineer-Data Center IT Rack Feasibility, you will interpret technology collateral to create mechanical designs, conduct selective detailed analyses, and prepare test plans to validate function, reliability, and compliance. You will coordinate with downstream stakeholders to support product requirements during early feasibility investigations.

Every Dell Technologies team member brings something unique to the table. Here’s what we are looking for with this role: 

 

Essential Requirements

  • 2–3 years of experience in electro-mechanical product development or equivalent skillwith exposure to air or liquid cooling technologies through coursework, internships, research, or industry
  • Experience with 3D CAD software such as Creo or SolidWorks
  • Exposure to mechanical design of sheet metal, plastic, die-cast, or electromechanical components
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical datasheets, and specifications
  • Basic understanding of engineering analysis tools, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

 

Preferred

  • Degree in Mechanical or Thermal Engineering 
  • Experience with data center hardware, server systems, rack infrastructure, or thermal management solutions

 

Compensation

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.The base salary range for this position is $88,800-$122,100
