The Team
The Tommy Jeansbusiness unitis one of the main business drivers within Tommy Hilfiger Europe. Based in the Amsterdam European HQ, the team is split intothree categoryteams: Denim, Tommy Jeans Women’s (non-denim) & Tommy Jeans Men’s (non-denim). This role sits within our TJM category team,  with a category team spanning cross-functionally including ‘Design, Product Development,Tech, Planning, Merchandising '.
The Position
The TJM Â Merchandiser position reports into the SeniorDirector for TJMand is apivotal role owning Tees, heavy-weight knits & Graphics.
Key Responsibilities
- Obsessing over consumer product needs & behaviours whilst leading the product group strategy within the category merchandising team & strategy.
- Being product obsessed & expert within the Tees, heavy weighted knits & Graphics business.
- Setting & owning a clear strategic direction for Tees, heavy weighted knits & Graphics across a medium-to-long-term basis (1-3 years) Â being a key deliverable. Having the ability to work short term across multiple collections & seasons at once, adapt to newness whilst always considering the main strategic direction.
- Creating seasonal range plans andproductstrategies. Leading with the brands direction, seasonal priorities & concepts, alwaystaking into considerationBU KPI’s with regional input & commercial needs.
- Range plans that enable clear commercial potential (circa 80%) whilst enabling must-have newness & trends to come through (circa 20%) whilst brand DNA remains a key focus at all times.
- Building strong relationships within the category team, notably Design,Product Development& Planningto buildon brand strategy, efficient & profitable collections. Balancing commercial product needs with the seasonal design direction& key newness (trends) being a key outcome.
- Preparing & executingall key milestoneswithin the category & BU team, includingkey stakeholdermanagement across the regions, other BU’s & product leadership.
- Strong presentation skills are a key deliverable, including product strategy & collections, with key stakeholders being the category team, regional merchandising & commercial teams throughoutkey calendar touchpoints.
- Strong business & productanalysisbeing a key deliverable. Reviewing sell-in & sell-outresults, pricing architecture,BU & category KPI’s.
- Strong product & line forecasting, PLM system management alongside other key data sources.
- Strong cross-category communication & teamwork whilstidentifying & implementing best practices to ensurehigh clarity, focus & execution of category priorities.
The Ideal Candidate
- Approximately 3-5 years experience in Merchandising,Commercial ,Buying or Product Development
- A Strong combination of product & commercial mindset
- AStrongteam collaborator & communicator with an
entrepreneurial mindset - Ability toobsess over consumers & products across analysis using varieddatasources & cross-functional colleagues.
- Build a narrative around trends/patterns to create strategies
- Detail-oriented and proactive with a willingness to learn
- Organizational and management skills – with an ability to manage multiple projects/seasons at the same time
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines
- Experienced user of MS Office, specifically Excel
- Experience with a PLM-style management system is a plus
- Fluent in English, verbal and written
- Passionate about the lifestyle and apparel/fashion industry, Tommy Jeans Brand and products
