Apprentice Diesel Technician

As a technician apprentice, you'll learn practical skills and knowledge under the guidacne of a skilled mentor, engaging in on-the-job training and related instruction to become a proficient technician.

Job Responsibilities:

• Work alongside experienced technicians, learning from them and gaining hands-on experience
• Follow the guidance and instructions of your supervisor and mentor
• Assist with various tasks, including preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues, and making repairs
• Learn to use diagnostic tools and other equipment to test and repair systems and components
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, or assisting with more complex repairs
• Document your work and maintain records of maintenance and repairs
• Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies
• Comply with local, state, and federal polices and regulations

Job Qualifications:

• Enrolled into, and currently attending, a high school or post-high school trade program, with a focus on Diesel Mechanics
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to follow procedures and directions from mentor
• Efficient problem solving skills
• Attention to detail
• Physical ability to perform tasks that require lifting, bending, or standing for extended periods of time.
