Location: Various Abbeyfield Living Society care homes. Locations include: Winnersh, Amersham, Honiton, Southampton, Horsted Keynes, New Malden and Wimbledon
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: up to £50,000 per annum
Contract: 12 Month Fixed Term, Full Time

About the role

Are you an experienced Care Home Manager looking for a role where you can make a real difference across multiple services?

JoinAbbeyfield Living Society as aPeripatetic Care Home Manager, providing operational leadership, stability and quality improvement across our care homes.

This is a varied and rewarding role where you will step into services requiring additional leadership support, providing interim management when required and helping homes to deliver safe, effective and person-centred care.

You’ll work closely with Care Home Managers and operational leaders to strengthen leadership capability, improve quality and compliance, and ensure our services consistently deliver high standards of care and customer experience.

What you'll be doing

• Providing practical management and leadership support to homes experiencing operational, regulatory or leadership challenges.
• Undertaking interim Care Home Manager responsibilities when required.
• Coaching and mentoring newly appointed Care Home Managers and senior team members.
• Leading and supporting quality improvement initiatives, audits and service reviews.
• Developing and delivering improvement plans to address risks and performance concerns.
• Supporting services with CQC inspections and monitoring visits.
• Leading investigations relating to complaints, safeguarding concerns, disciplinary matters and operational incidents.
• Producing clear, evidence-based reports, recommendations and action plans.
• Supporting effective governance, risk management, safeguarding and compliance.
• Building positive relationships with residents, relatives, colleagues, regulators and external partners.
• Providing temporary line management where Care Home Manager positions are vacant or managers are absent.
• Supporting succession planning, leadership development and a culture of continuous improvement.

About you

You’ll be an experienced senior care professional with significant experience leading residential, nursing or specialist care services. You’ll ideally have experience as aRegistered Manager, Care Home Manager or in an equivalent senior operational role.

You’ll need:

• Strong knowledge ofCQC regulations and health and social care legislation.
• Experience improving underperforming services and delivering sustainable change.
• Experience managing quality assurance, compliance and improvement processes.
• Experience conducting complex investigations and producing detailed reports.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, governance and risk management.
• Excellent leadership, influencing, communication and problem-solving skills.
• The confidence to constructively challenge poor practice and make difficult decisions.
• The ability to build credibility and effective relationships quickly.
• A resilient, adaptable and solution-focused approach.
• High levels of integrity and professionalism.
• A genuine commitment to achieving excellent outcomes for residents and colleagues.
• A UK Driving Licence with access to an insured vehicle is required for this role
• ALevel 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care, or willingness to achieve this where appropriate, is essential. Ongoing professional development is also expected.
