Title: Data Scientist - Contract
Duration: Through 4/30/27
Location:3 days onsite in Cupertino, CA
Responsibilities
- As a Data Scientist Contractor, you will analyze complex data sets to extract meaningful insights and support data-driven decision-making.
- Collect, process, and analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights.Develop and implement machine learning models and algorithms to solve business problems.
- Create data visualizations and dashboards to communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with project teams to understand data requirements and deliver relevant analytical solutions.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity by performing data validation and quality checks.
- 5-7 years of experience in Data Science, with a strong focus on business-facing product analytics; financial products experience is a plus
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python; experience querying and extracting data from big data environments (Spark) highly desirable
- Experience designing and interpreting A/B tests, including control group setup and efficacy measurement
- Working knowledge of when and how to apply AI/LLM capabilities to business problems, with the ability to communicate those recommendations to business partners (this is not a deep ML/AI engineering role)
- Strong critical thinking skills, able to take an ambiguous problem statement and break it down into smaller, actionable steps
- Demonstrated experience applying statistical rigor and machine learning techniques to derive insights from large, complex data sets
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Self-starter who can drive projects with little supervision
- Proficiency with Tableau or similar BI/visualization tools
- Equal parts business and technical savvy
