Data Scientist

Summary

The Client's Digital Business is urgently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Scientist to step in immediately and lead the completion of a critical, ongoing project. This role is essential for ensuring the on-time internal rebuild of a proprietary platform which is vital for housing the Machine Learning (ML) models that power their premium monitoring services for their specialized industrial customers. The successful candidate must be able to quickly integrate with the team and drive the development phase to meet a hard go-live deadline in December.

Key Responsibilities

• Urgent Project Leadership: Immediately take over the development and completion of the platform rebuild project from the departing Data Scientist.
• Machine Learning Model Implementation: Focus on the development and integration of the Machine Learning models within the new, internal platform.
• Platform Transition: Execute the technical shift from a 3rd party dependency to a new, internal, and expandable platform.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the Digital Command Center (DCC) team, specialized business unit stakeholders, and other internal groups to ensure project alignment and success.
• Deadline Management: Prioritize tasks and maintain a relentless focus on meeting the demanding December go-live deadline.
• Technical Documentation: Ensure all new platform and model development is properly documented to facilitate future maintenance and expansion.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Proven, hands-on experience as a Data Scientist, preferably with a background in mission-critical platform development.
• Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency in developing and deploying Machine Learning models for premium services.
• Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage high-stakes projects, adhere to strict deadlines, and rapidly integrate into an ongoing development effort.
• Domain Knowledge (Preferred): Experience or familiarity with data science applications in specialized industrial services or critical monitoring systems.
• Independent Work Ethic: Ability to operate effectively with minimal ramp-up time and ownership over the project's success.

Project Duration and Opportunity

• Initial Term: This is an urgent, high-priority role required specifically to get the proprietary platform project through its December go-live.
• Long-term Potential: Depending on business needs and the candidate's performance, there is a potential opportunity for this role to transition into an ongoing support position for the business unit or a permanent backfill/shift opportunity.
