Overview
TalentFish is casting a line for a Data Engineer. This is a contract role hybrid role in Chicago suburb. In this role you will be building and supporting scalable cloud data solutions using Snowflake and Microsoft Azure, improving data availability, performance, security reliability. We are searching for passionate data engineers who love working and high energy team environments.

What You Bring to the Role. (Ideal Experience)
3+ years of enterprise data warehouse experience, data architecture, data warehouse and data mart implementations and complex SQL development – SQL Server or other relational data source experience.
Must have 2+ years in cloud data engineering or cloud platform support.
Hands-on Snowflake experience - data loading, SQL development, and warehouse management; Azure experience with Data Factory, Blob Storage, Data Lake Storage, Key Vault, and identity and access management.
Experience with cloud networking, virtual networks, private endpoints, and firewall rules; knowledge of role-based access, data security, and CI/CD and DevOps practices. Bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems preferred, or equivalent experience.
Informatica PowerCenter or Cloud Data Integration, Power BI, QA/QC testing, project management, research data models, and healthcare information systems experience are pluses.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, negotiation, issue-resolution, and facilitation skills; ability to collaborate across teams, make sound decisions, and mentor peers.

What You'll Do. (Skills Used in this Position)
Help design and implement scalable Snowflake and Azure data architectures; configure warehouses, roles, resource monitors, and data sharing, and contribute to design reviews and architecture standards.
Develop, test, debug, and document data applications and ELT/ETL pipelines; work with data engineers to integrate data sources and troubleshoot data loading and post-implementation issues.
Optimize query performance, data organization, warehouse sizing, and resource scaling; monitor platform performance and consumption and support cost optimization.
Implement and maintain role-based access and data protection controls, including encryption, masking, and row- and column-level security, in partnership with security teams.
Collaborate with enterprise architects, developers, data engineers, and BI teams; document designs, specifications, data flows, and procedures, and provide peer mentoring and knowledge-sharing sessions.

Compensation Information
The expected hourly pay range for this position is $47–$65 per hour. The hourly pay offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
