Position: CT Scan TechnologistÂ
Location: Old Bridge, NJ 08857
Duration: 10/26/2026–01/23/2027 (~3 months)
Shift: Friday, Saturday & Sunday, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
Schedule: 36 hrs/week, 12 hrs/day, 3x12; weekends required; no holidays; optional on-call; no floating
Pay Range: $65-$70/hr.
Requirements
Required Experience
- 5 years of experience
- General CT with and without contrast, CTAs, and perfusion
- Experience using GE Revolution CT Scanner
Preferred Experience
- Six months CT experience
- Epic and HIS/RIS experience
Required Education
- Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program
- High school diploma or equivalent
Required Licensure & Certifications
- NJ DEP Diagnostic Radiography License
- ARRT Certified R.T.(R) license
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Preferred Licensure & Certifications
- ARRT certified R.T. (CT) license
Required Skills
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology, radiological positioning of the human body, CT software and hardware, PACS system, and maintaining CEU credits
- ARRT (CT) certification within 12 months following hire
- AHA BLS certification within 3 months following hire
Additional Skills
- Usage of GE Revolution CT Scanner, HIS/RIS system, venipuncture, IV patency, IV maintenance procedures, Epic
Responsibilities
- Perform complex CT procedures.
- Review and obtain patient clinical history and ensure documentation is scanned into PACS.
- Prepare, screen, and review contrast questionnaires and scan documentation into EPIC.
- Identify and/or administer contrast media as prescribed.
- Review patient prescriptions and communicate with Radiologist/Referring Physician when clarification or additional clinical information is needed.
- Verify insurance-authorized exam scripts and send exam modification forms to Finance for insurance re-verification.
- Obtain outside studies and schedule them in EPIC so CDs and reports are available in PACS for comparison.
- Provide exam copies to patients, requesting physicians, and/or family members.
- Evaluate radiographs using PACS to ensure proper identification and diagnostic quality.
- Gather relevant information from medical records, caregivers, and healthcare providers to prepare scanning protocols and ensure patient safety.
- Determine whether patients are appropriately prepared for procedures and prepare patients for scanning.
- Determine appropriate contrast type and dose.
- Provide patient instructions and address/document questions and concerns.
- Perform venipuncture, IV patency, and IV maintenance procedures according to established guidelines.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions during procedures.
- Work scheduled weekends and on-call assignments as required by department policy.
- Lift at least 25 lbs., push/pull at least 50 lbs., and stand at least 6 hours per day.
- Modify and deliver care according to patient age, culture, language, hearing, visual, developmental, educational, and literacy needs.
