Job Specific Working Conditions:
San Diego North Young Life has a strong legacy of vibrant ministry and is looking for its next Area Director to lead into the next season ahead. This role needs someone who brings passion, energy, and vision to create the kind of experience for students and families that feels like the heartbeat of Young Life. The ideal leader will build strong relationships with students, develop people and teams, and continue strengthening a healthy mission community of volunteers, committee members, and donors. There is already a strong foundation in place, including a tenured staff leader faithfully leading Wildlife and Capernaum, and we are looking for someone who can build on that momentum with confidence and experience.
- Passion for direct kid work, especially with high school students
- Proven ability to build vibrant ministry with students
- Experience raising funding and engaging donors well
- Strong relational skills with adults, volunteers, and committee members
- Experience building healthy teams and developing leaders
- Someone who can build on an existing strong foundation and move it forward
- Previous Young Life experience preferred, or comparable leadership experience outside of Young Life
Area Director I
Summary:Through spiritual leadership and proper management, lead in developing a team in the area to carry out Young Life’s mission of introducing kids to Jesus Christ and helping them grow in their faith.
Ministry Functions:
Spiritual Development — “Following Jesus” includes prayer and spiritual disciplines, fellowship, growth and health and church relationships.
Leadership Development — “Equipping leaders, committee and staff” includes key volunteer care, recruiting, team building and training, supervision and vision casting.
Resource Development — “Fueling the ministry” includes events, major donor care, public relations (branding) and TDS team.
Direct Ministry — “Proclaiming and modeling” includes contact work, club, Campaigners and camp.
Ministry Support — “Taking care of business” includes accounting, administration, communication (internal), data management and strategic plan.
