Job Summary
General Atomics (GA) and its affiliated companies are recognized as a leading provider of advanced technology solutions, supporting innovations across the nuclear fuel cycle, remotely piloted aircraft, airborne sensors, and advanced electronic, wireless, and laser technologies.We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant IV to support corporate accounting and consolidation activities across the organization. This role is critical in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with applicable accounting standards, and supporting the company’s close and reporting processes.
The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing financial records, supporting the monthly and quarterly close, and assisting in the preparation of consolidated financial statements. This position requires strong collaboration with cross-functional teams including finance, technical and government accounting, treasury, tax, FP&A, HR, operations, and external auditors
Duties and Responsibilities
Corporate Accounting & Financial Reporting
•   Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements across multiple entitiesÂ
•   Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processesÂ
•   Prepare and review journal entries, including accruals and adjustmentsÂ
•   Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and supporting documentationÂ
•   Perform research and analysis of accounting issues and financial dataÂ
•   Collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and alignmentÂ
•   Drive efficiencies in the close and consolidation processesÂ
•   Support implementation of best practices in corporate accountingÂ
Reconciliation & Audit Support
•   Perform account reconciliations, including detailed balance sheet reviews and variance analysisÂ
•   Identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely mannerÂ
•   Prepare and review audit schedules to ensure completeness and accuracyÂ
•   Partner with internal and external auditors to support financial and compliance auditsÂ
ERP Systems & Financial Data Management
•   Utilize ERP systems including SAP and BPC to ensure accurate financial data and reportingÂ
•   Support system enhancements and process standardization effortsÂ
Additional Responsibilities
•   Support special projects and initiatives, as assignedÂ
Job Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience (or 6+ years with a Master’s degree)
- Master’s degree or CPA preferred
- Experience with corporate accounting, consolidations, and financial reporting required
- Experience in defense, aerospace, or government contracting is a plus
