The Portfolio Manager ensures consistent application of portfolio management standards, maintains clear visibility into portfolio health, and delivers actionable insights that help IT leadership make informed decisions. The role works closely with IT domain leads, Product Management, and Agile Delivery, and reports to the Portfolio Management Lead.
The selected candidate will be required to work ahybrid schedule (3 days in office / 2 remote) from ourCincinnati, OH office.No relocation assistance is offered for this role.
Key Accountabilities/Deliverables:
Implemented governance frameworks to drive consistent portfolio management practices, tools, and processes across all IT domains.
Maintained accurate portfolio data enabling consolidated, executive‑level reporting for the CIO, Chief of Staff, and IT leadership.
Validated dashboards and reports to ensure accuracy of investment performance, delivery progress, and risk visibility.
Ensured governance alignment with established standards and templates defined by the Portfolio Management Lead.
Analyzed portfolio demand and capacity to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities.
Reconciled financial and operational data in partnership with Finance to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Informed prioritization and planning by leveraging portfolio metrics and performance insights.
Improved data quality to strengthen metrics, reporting, and analytical capabilities.
Supported quarterly and annual planning with consistent data definitions and inputs across domains.
Reviewed domain dashboards to verify accuracy of key performance metrics.
Escalated portfolio risks to ensure timely visibility and mitigation.
Enhanced portfolio management standards by contributing to continuous improvement of templates, processes, and governance practices.
Collaborated with Agile Delivery to ensure Jira served as the single source of truth for portfolio reporting.
Technical Knowledge and Understanding:
Portfolio Management Tools — Jira, ADO, ServiceNow, and portfolio reporting systems; understanding of work item structures, dependencies, and data flows.
Agile Delivery Practices — Epics, sprints, velocity, capacity planning, backlog management, and Agile metrics interpretation.
Data Analysis & Reporting — Advanced Excel, Power BI/Tableau, data validation, trend analysis, KPI development, and dashboard quality assurance.
Demand, Capacity & Financial Alignment — Resource planning, throughput analysis, CapEx/OpEx understanding, and reconciliation of operational and financial data.
Risk & Dependency Management
Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in business, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of experience in portfolio, program, or project management, ideally within large-scale IT organizations
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to synthesize data into actionable insights
Proven ability to manage complex data sets and produce clear, concise reports for senior stakeholders
Familiarity with portfolio management tools and processes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and able to work collaboratively across multiple teams and levels of the organization
Experience with Jira-based reporting
