Key Responsibilities 

Project Design Leadership 

  • Act as a subject matter expert during concept design, schematic design, and construction documentation stages. 

  • Assist with feasibility design and store layouts using Revit software. 

  • Complete store walks, site assessments and review and signoff all concept designs. 

  • Ensure our external signage partner has all signage disciplines delivered to our specification and Australian Standards (Architectural, Mech, Elec, Hydraulics). 

Stakeholder Engagement 

  • Work closely with Design Managers, Project Managers, Property Managers, Development Managers, and external consultants to ensure quality and consistency. 

  • Present and communicate standards, innovate and provide solutions for all projects across our Fuel and Merch Only network. 

Standards Governance 

  • Communicate design changes and our efficiencies to our internal team, namly our Standards & BIM Manager. 

  • Review and approve all design documentation for compliance with 7-Eleven’s brand, operational requirements, and local codes. 

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Operations, Merchandising, Safety & Sustainability) to ensure evolving needs are reflected in store design as per standards. 

What You’ll Bring 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field 

  • Significant years’ experience as a Standards Manager, Design Manager, or Digital Delivery role within retail, commercial, or similar sectors. 

  • Expert-level proficiency in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD and BIM 360 / ACC. 

  • Strong understanding of Australian building codes, standards, and local planning regulations. 

  • Experience managing design standards and using digital asset libraries. 

Desirable (but not essential): 

  • Familiarity with retail operations, customer experience design, and convenience store workflows. 

  • Experience working in fast-paced, multi-site rollout environments (QSR or Retail).
