Product Development Engineer for Railway Rubber Springs (Molded Parts)

- Develop railway rubber springs (molded parts) in accordance with customer specifications, company standards, and cost objectives.
- Execute development projects from feasibility assessment through series production introduction.
- Manage samples and test orders with full accountability.
- Establish and execute comprehensive test concepts aligned with customer, market, and quality requirements, including design verification plan development, test initiation and tracking, and results evaluation.
- Prepare and maintain technical product documentation, including engineering drawings, product specifications, bills of materials, and test reports.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for customer and internal stakeholder communication.
- Facilitate technical communication with customers and external partners.
- Support product industrialization initiatives, including product and process modifications and resolution of product-specific technical issues.
- Conduct competitive product analysis and benchmarking assessments.
- Support patent analyses and patent application development for proprietary innovations.
- Participate in project gate reviews and design review sessions.
- Report directly to the designated department leader.
- Apply and support risk mitigation through Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (D-FMEA) and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (P-FMEA).
- Collaborate closely with central departments including quality assurance, application engineering, platform development, manufacturing, industrial engineering, and product/process industrialization teams across all locations.
- Demonstrate commitment to team objectives and deliver results in accordance with established timelines.
- Support the investigation and resolution of customer claims.
- Undertake business travel as required.
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Rubber Technology, or a related discipline
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience, including demonstrated expertise in technical customer support
- Comprehensive knowledge of material science and production processes within the rubber sector, including railway quality standards (IRIS)
- Advanced proficiency in project management and quality assurance methodologies (APQP, PPAP, FMEA)
- Proficiency in MS Office, SAP, and CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, CATIA, or equivalent)
- Fluent English language skills (written and spoken); German language proficiency is desirable
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with strong prioritization and complex problem-solving capabilities
- Strategic mindset with customer-centric orientation, results-driven approach, strong negotiation skills, and decisive decision-making ability
- Ability to undertake business travel as required by the role
