Salary: AUD 108571 - 119893 Annual Gross.

Role Summary
We are seeking a highly motivatedBackend Java Spring Boot Microservices Engineer with experience in designing, developing, deploying, and supporting enterprise-grade application atMelbourne location. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise inJava, Spring Boot, Microservices Architecture, AWS Cloud Services, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines, along with hands-on experience in bothdevelopment and production support activities within anAgile/Scrum environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Development
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications usingJava, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
  • Build and consumeRESTful APIs and integrate with internal and external systems.
  • Develop cloud-native applications and deploy solutions onAWS services such as EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, SQS, and SNS.
  • Implement event-driven solutions using messaging technologies such asKafka or RabbitMQ.
  • Create reusable, secure, and high-performance services following industry best practices.
  • Participate in application design, code reviews, and architecture discussions.
DevOps & Cloud
  • Develop and maintainCI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar tools.
  • Containerize applications usingDocker and deploy/manage workloads onKubernetes platforms.
  • Implement automated testing, code quality checks, security scans, and deployment processes.
  • Monitor application performance and optimize cloud resource utilization.
Support & Maintenance
  • ProvideL2/L3 production support for business-critical applications.
  • Perform incident analysis, debugging, root cause identification, and issue resolution.
  • Participate in on-call support rotations when required.
  • Analyze logs, monitor system health, and proactively address application issues.
  • Work on defect fixes, enhancements, performance tuning, and service improvements.
Agile Delivery
  • Participate in Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA teams, and DevOps engineers.
  • Estimate user stories and deliver high-quality code within sprint commitments.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices.
Required Skills
  • Strong experience inJava (6+ years)
  • Hands-on experience withSpring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security
  • Experience designing and implementingMicroservices Architecture
  • Knowledge on Node.js will be an added advantage.
  • Expertise inREST APIs and API integration
  • Strong knowledge ofAWS Cloud Services
  • Experience withDocker and Kubernetes
  • Experience withCI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or Harness
  • Good understanding ofSQL and NoSQL databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB)
  • Experience withKafka or other messaging platforms
  • Proficiency inGit version control
  • Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working inAgile/Scrum teams
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with Spring Cloud, API Gateway, Eureka, Resilience4j
  • Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Knowledge of observability tools such as Splunk, ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, or CloudWatch
  • Banking or Financial Services domain experience
  • Experience with secure application development and cloud security practices
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Java backend development (adjust as required).
  • Experience across the full software development lifecycle, including development, deployment, and production support.
